Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage groups of elementary students during afterschool hours, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, teamwork, and physical activity.
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Maintain awareness of each child's individual needs, including those related to special education or behavioral challenges.
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures, CPR/AED operation, and emergency response plans.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop age-appropriate curriculum that supports childhood development milestones.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress or concerns.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Certifications such as CPR, AED operation, first aid protocols, or willingness to obtain upon hire are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, including those with special education needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan activities that foster early childhood education and development.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching young children, or coaching sports is a plus.
