TITLE: School Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrates competence in use of computer and office machines.
- Additional criteria as the Board may establish.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: None
JOB GOAL: To perform assigned duties efficiently and in a manner which will facilitate the smooth functioning of the school and its programs.

- Student Progress Reports/Report Cards
- Receives and distributes mail.
- Types correspondence and handbook materials, as requested by the principal.
- Maintains a school filing system.
- Duplicates office materials.
- Conducts proper office equipment maintenance and reports the need for repair.
- Has a working knowledge of office computer skills, including JCampus.
- Greets visitors/answers phone in a friendly manner and directs them according to need.
- Purchases office supplies according to procedures.
- Processes requisitions and purchase orders according to procedures.
- Maintains a current substitute list, and secures subs as directed by the principal.
- Participates in the Parish Crisis plan and emergency procedures established at each school.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the proper authority.
- Reports job-related injuries within 48 hours of work accident to the immediate supervisor. "Job-related injuries" include, but are not limited to, any accident or illness which involves loss of consciousness, restriction of work or motion, or medical treatment.

- Adheres to all deadlines set by board policy.

- Maintains confidentiality of all matters related to student and employee matters.
- Reports job-related injuries within 48 hours of a work accident to the immediate supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine, Ten or Eleven Months (Circle one)
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated at least once annually in accordance with Board policy.
