Responsibilities of the Lead Veterinarian:
- Medical Care : Provide excellent medical care to animals, including performing surgeries, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and managing patients’ treatment plans.
- Team Leadership : Supervise and support the veterinary staff, ensuring they follow clinical protocols and contribute to the overall success of the hospital.
- Client Communication : Consult with clients about their pets' health, answer questions, and address concerns or medical complaints.
- Training and Development : Support the growth and development of staff members through mentorship and participation in the hospital's internal LevelUp training program.
- Medical Oversight : Oversee medical care for all patients, ensuring the highest standards and acting as the veterinarian of record for all necessary permits and licenses.
- Collaboration : Work with the Practice Manager to set medical standards and collaborate with the Regional Medical Director to implement medical guidelines across the practice.
Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
- At least 5 years of experience as a veterinarian, with experience in leadership or management preferred.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to diagnose, treat, and perform surgeries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and support staff and interact with clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Active license in good standing to practice in Georgia or the ability to obtain a license in the state.
