Schedule:
Tuesday- Thursday 10p- 8am
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes or concerns
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines for privacy and confidentiality
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary
- Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Follow established care plans for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities
- Respond promptly to emergencies with CPR or first aid when required, ensuring resident safety at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs effectively
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disorders, or memory care needs is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
