Associate Recruiter
Design & Integration (DI) is looking for an Associate Recruiter. This professional is a responsible for the initial phases of the recruiting process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates for open positions within DI and building a strong network to increase our talent pipeline. This role is foundational to a career in human resources or talent acquisition. If you are a go-getter and great with building relationships, this could be the job for you.
Key Responsibilities
Associate Recruiters work under the supervision of senior staff and learn the recruitment process by performing a variety of tasks:
- Sourcing Candidates: Identifying potential candidates through various channels such as job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, really), social media, and internal databases and within industry.
- Screening and Interviewing: Reviewing resumes and conducting initial phone or video interviews to assess a candidate's qualifications, skills, and fit for the role.
- Administrative Support: Posting job advertisements, scheduling interviews between candidates and hiring managers, and maintaining accurate candidate records.
- Onboarding Assistance: Assisting with the pre-hire and initial onboarding process, which can include conducting reference or background checks.
- Relationship Building: Building a network of contacts within industry, universities/trade schools, potential job seekers and internal hiring managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
While we prefer a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, we will also consider relevant experience in recruiting, customer service and/or sales:
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interacting with diverse candidates and internal teams.
- Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build rapport, listen actively, and manage relationships is essential for a positive candidate experience.
- Organizational & Time Management Skills: Manage multiple job openings and deadlines simultaneously, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: The hiring landscape can be fast-paced, requiring resourcefulness to overcome challenges and adapt to changing needs.
- Sales Ability: Recruiters need to "sell" the position and company culture to a candidate, requiring some level of sales and negotiation skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with job boards and social media platforms for recruiting is important.
Salary: Starting at a base of$50,000, plus performance-based commissions.
