The Fabric Spreader is responsible for manually spreading and preparing fabric layers on the cutting table to ensure precision and efficiency in upholstered furniture production. Department and Reporting Structure

• Department: Cutting Department
• Reports To: Operations Manager
• Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities

• We Own It: Work with a partner to manually spread and align fabric layers on the cutting table, ensuring accuracy according to production specifications.
• We Give Our All: Inspect fabric during spreading to identify and address defects, wrinkles, or inconsistencies that may affect production quality.
• We Are Family: Collaborate with team members to ensure materials are prepared efficiently and meet production schedules.
• Measure and mark fabric according to cutting templates and production requirements.
• Handle fabric rolls safely, including lifting, rolling, and positioning on the cutting table.
• We Have Fun: Maintain a positive and productive work environment while achieving team and department goals.
• Ensure a clean and organized cutting area to optimize workflow and safety.
• Report any material shortages or quality issues to the Cutting Department Lead.
• Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably with fabric handling.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with a partner and other team members.
• Basic math skills for measuring and marking fabric.
• Physical ability to handle fabric rolls and stand for extended periods.

Certifications

• None required, though experience in fabric handling or production is preferred.
