Design Catapult Manufacturing, Inc. is an industrial design and engineering firm based in Fountain Valley, CA, specializing in product design and prototype development across medical, dental, consumer, and industrial markets.
The Mechanical Engineer leads product development from concept through prototype and into production. This role requires a highly self-directed engineer who can manage multiple projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver practical, manufacturable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead design from concept through prototyping and production release
- Partner with clients to translate requirements into effective engineering solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production teams
- Manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables concurrently
- Develop and execute project plans and schedules
- Direct prototype builds and coordinate cross-functional execution
- Support and improve production processes and methods
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Qualifications – Education, Experience, License and Certificates
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
- 5 years of product development experience
- Experience taking products from concept to production
- Hands-on experience with plastics, sheet metal, CNC machining, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, FDA, or regulated environments preferred

- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
