Position Overview
The Junior Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of running the varsity-level program. This role provides instruction, motivation, and mentorship to student-athletes, ensuring a positive and competitive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with practices, game preparation, and in-game management.
- Provide individualized coaching and support to players.
- Help reinforce team rules, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Monitor academic progress and AIA eligibility.
- Support program logistics including equipment, scheduling, and communication.
- Step into leadership responsibilities when the Head Coach is unavailable.
Qualifications
- Prior coaching or competitive playing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the sport and AIA standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Fingerprint clearance card (required).
