Journeyman Lineman

Deseret Power is an electrical utility serving Utah and surrounding states. We have an excellent job opportunity for a Qualified Journeyman Lineman at our Bonanza Plant, a 500 MW coal-fired generating station, near Vernal, Utah.

The successful candidate must have the knowledge and ability to install, test, maintain and repair all powerline structures wood, steel and all associated equipment with system voltages up to 345KV. You will also assist the Meter, Relay, Substation, and Communications departments as needed. Work assignments will include but not be limited to powerline inspection, maintenance, and repair. Right of Way vegetation management, also working with explosives for boiler de-slagging during unit outages. You will be required to comply with all O.S.H.A and other generally accepted safety standards. You will be required to read drawings and data sheets and keep accurate records and documentation. You will be expected to answer emergency call outs outside of normal working hours. Travel and out-of- town stay periodically required.

You must be a High School graduate or equivalent. You must have a minimum of 1 year as a Journeyman Lineman and be qualified to climb wood or steel structures in excess of 200 feet. You must have or be able to obtain a valid Utah, class B commercial driver license with a hazardous endorsement.
