DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators) is a non-profit organization that administers benefits for companies who are owned or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
DMBA is looking for an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for performing specialized accounting work required to maintain the general ledger for several trusts/entities administered by Deseret Mutual. Working under the direction of the Assistant Controller, the Accountant or Senior Accountant primarily assists the investment accounting function but may support other areas of the accounting department. This role also ensures accounting records are accurate and properly maintained. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist the Investment Accounting function by preparing daily and monthly journal entries related to investment transactions
- Reconcile investment related general ledger accounts to the investment sub-ledger
- Competently answer investment accounting questions using the investment accounting sub-ledger, Clearwater Analytics
- Accurately track and record partnership transactions and values
- Assist in the monthly close cycle for multiple entities
- Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting
- 1-4 years accounting experience, investment accounting experience preferred
- Experience with Clearwater Analytics or other investment accounting software preferred
- Extremely organized and is very attentive to detail
- Ability to work independently yet thrives in a team oriented environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and proactive, with follow-through on commitments and projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
