JOB IDENTIFICATION

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Parks & Facilities Foreman
Supervises: N/A
BASIC FUNCTION
Building & grounds staff ensures that the Lake Park grounds, marina and club house, Lakeview Center, Prairie Lakes & Mountain View are kept clean, attractive and safe throughout the summer season. This position works in the early morning and weekends.
Seasonal (March 1-October 31)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform custodial cleaning of restrooms, picnic shelters and the Lake Park Club House, and Lakeview Center
- Ensure Prairie Lakes grounds and fields are free of debris.
- Maintain Mountain View Batting Cage, Skate Park, and Mini Golf areas in kempt manner.
- Clean and pressure wash picnic areas.
- Pick-up debris and empty garbage cans.
- Pick-up of Seaweed around Lake Opeka Perimeter.
- Maintains turf areas including mowing and trimming.
- Inspects parks, cleans up debris.
- Mulch and edge tree beds, prune hedges and trees.
- Inspects, cleans, maintain and performs routine maintenance on related equipment.
- Performs support services at Park District and community events.
- Operates district vehicles and equipment.
OTHER DUTIES
- Assist administrative staff with special maintenance requests.
- May be required to perform overtime work as requested or required, including weekends.
- Provides polite customer service to any park users if approached.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Park District Safety and Crisis Manuals
- Coordinates activities to successfully collaborate with district staff performing maintenance in the same area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education: High School Diploma Preferred
Experience: Related experience preferred
Certifications: Driver’s License, CPR certified upon hire
