Job Title: Restaurant Line Cook
Location: Downtown Des Moines, IA
Pay: $19.00 / hour (Paid Weekly) Overtime Opportunities
Earn PTO and use on day 60
Schedule: Primary shift 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Full-Time / Part-Time); may occasionally fill in for day shifts.
Position Overview
Seeking a dependable Restaurant Line Cook to prep ingredients, operate hot line stations/fryers, and support evening and occasional day-shift kitchen operations in downtown Des Moines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prep & Cook: Prepare sauces and food items for service; operate commercial deep fryers and line stations.
- Kitchen Support: Assist with general prep, station setup, dishwashing, and secondary kitchen duties as needed.
- Sanitation & Closing: Maintain a clean workspace and execute routine breakdown and sanitization of cooking equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior kitchen, line cook, or prep experience preferred (especially with deep fryers).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication, team-first attitude, and schedule flexibility to work 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shifts, occasional day shifts, and overtime as needed.
