Forklift Operator in Muscatine, IA

• Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
• Overtime: Occasional overtime is available.
• Primary Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Shift Flexibility: We are also open to candidates interested in 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Summary of Position

As a Forklift Operator in our food-grade warehouse, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and counting of merchandise. You will play a crucial role in loading/unloading trailers, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, productivity, and food safety. Proper documentation of all movements is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and attachments safely and efficiently to prevent injury, damage to merchandise, and damage to the facility. Report any necessary maintenance issues.
• Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment, verifying the exact number and type of product.
• Properly load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy and documentation.
• Locate and re-locate merchandise for optimal space utilization and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and shipments.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness, sanitation, pest control, and adherence to food safety practices.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and supervisors

Qualifications & Requirements

• Prior forklift operation experience is mandatory. Must demonstrate longevity in job history.
• Proven attention to detail and ability to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Basic math and PC skills.
• Ability to maintain focus and solve space utilization problems.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must be physically able to handle the duties of the job, including the ability to lift occasionally 50-60 lbs, bend, stoop, and get on and off the forklift repeatedly.

All successful candidates must:

• Pass a CRT (stress test) and physical.
• Pass a drug test.
• Pass a background check for the last 7 years.

Please note the work environment includes:

• A dusty and humid warehouse setting.
• Temperature ranges from 40-90°F.
• Possible odors and the presence of soy and wheat food allergens.
