Job Opportunity: Forklift Operator (3rd Shift)
Location: Muscatine, IA
Shift: Sunday – Thursday | 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Compensation: $20.50/hour Overtime Opportunities
We are seeking a dedicated 3rd Shift Forklift Operator to join our food-grade warehouse team in Muscatine. Must have 3 years warehouse forklift experience listed on current resume and high school diploma or GED.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping & Receiving: Accurately pick, prepare, and load orders for shipment; unload incoming trailers ensuring the exact product count and type.
- Inventory Management: Move and store merchandise to optimize warehouse space and efficiency; maintain precise records of all inventory movements.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts and specialized attachments; conduct daily equipment checks and report maintenance needs immediately.
- Safety & Sanitation: Adhere to strict food safety (FSMA) standards, assist in pest control efforts, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Communication: Coordinate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth shift transitions and productivity goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years of warehouse forklift experience (food-grade warehouse experience is highly preferred).
- Reliability: A proven track record of job longevity and punctuality.
- Physical Capabilities:
- Ability to lift 50–60 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and frequently mount/dismount a forklift.
- Must pass a Physical, Stress Test (CRT), and Drug Screen.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive 7-year background check.
- Skills: Basic math and PC proficiency; strong attention to detail; ability to solve spatial/utilization problems.
Work Environment
- This is a food-grade facility. You will be working in a dusty and humid warehouse environment.
- Temperatures: Ranges from 40°F to 90°F depending on the season.
