Objective:
Under direct supervision of leadership, the Medical Assistant/Scribe will serve as direct support for the Dermatologists in the Mustang Oklahoma Clinic. The primary goal of the Medical Assistant/Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the Dermatologist, allowing the Dermatologist to focus on the patient.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or certified nursing assistant.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Job Duties:
- Understand and follow complex technical instructions.
- Communicate effectively and assertively while demonstrating compassion and empathy for individual situations.
- Understand medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments.
- Complies with all state, federal, and organizational policies, and procedures.
- All clinical aspects of rooming a patient including assisting provider with procedures.
- Transcribe real time examinations into EMR.
- Communicate test results to patient via MyChart message, telephone call, or registered letter.
- Track, manage, and document results in Pathology book.
- Complete prior authorizations for non-biologic medications.
- Maintain supplies, material and equipment in patient rooms or pod.
- Travel to and provide coverage as assigned
- Other job duties as assigned.
Education:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED, Some college preferred 2 years of experience.
- Maintenance of current Basic Life Support (BLS).
