What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut PC?
Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing dermatology practice. This role will primarily support our Mohs surgery team while also assisting with general clinical dermatology workflows as needed across the practice.

Responsibilities- Assist Mohs surgeon with surgical procedures, room setup, sterile technique, and patient flow
- Administer local anesthetic injections/numbing for procedures under provider direction
- Prepare and educate patients before and after procedures
- Perform clinical intake, documentation, medication reconciliation, and patient histories
- Assist with biopsies, excisions, wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes
- Provide postoperative instructions and patient follow-up communication
- Coordinate pathology specimens and surgical documentation
- Support providers with general dermatology patient care when needed
- Maintain exam and procedure rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment
- Collaborate closely with providers, MAs, front office staff, and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations
- Current LPN license in Connecticut
- Comfortable administering injections and assisting with surgical procedures
- Prior dermatology, surgical, plastics, ENT, or procedural experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a high-volume clinical environment
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing workflows
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
