Production Associate – Cosmetic & OTC Personal Care Manufacturing (1st Shift)
DCL Products, LLC and its wholly owned subsidiaries Dermatologic Cosmetic Laboratories, LLC and Milbar Labs, Inc. are growing and seeking motivated Assembly Line Workers to join our manufacturing team in East Haven, Connecticut.
As an FDA-registered contract manufacturer of cosmetic and OTC personal care products, we manufacture high-quality skincare, haircare, sunscreens, topical OTC drug products, and personal care products for leading national and international brands. Position: Assembly Line Worker
Starting Pay: $18.00 - $22.00/hour DOE
Shift: First Shift – Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: East Haven, CT
Position Summary
The Assembly Line Worker is responsible for supporting the packaging, labeling, inspection, assembly, and preparation of cosmetic and OTC personal care products in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA regulations, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and OSHA safety requirements. This position plays a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer expectations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assemble, package, label, and carton finished cosmetic and OTC products.
- Operate manual and semi-automated packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect bottles, tubes, jars, pumps, caps, labels, cartons, and finished products for quality defects.
- Perform product counting, lot code verification, and packaging reconciliation.
- Ensure correct components and materials are used according to production work orders and batch records.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and complete required forms and records.
- Report product defects, equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality deviations immediately to supervision.
- Follow all cGMP, FDA, company SOP, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized production work area through good housekeeping and sanitation practices.
- Assist with production line setup, changeovers, and line clearance activities.
- Support customer-specific kitting, promotional packaging, and special assembly projects as assigned.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to achieve production goals.
- Meet daily production, quality, and efficiency targets while maintaining accuracy.
- Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, packaging, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
- Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Quality & Regulatory Responsibilities
Employees are expected to:
- Follow all FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Comply with company quality systems, SOPs, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Maintain product traceability through accurate documentation.
- Help prevent contamination through proper hygiene, gowning, sanitation, and handling practices.
- Participate in quality, safety, and cGMP training programs.
- Support inspection readiness and continuous improvement initiatives consistent with FDA expectations under MoCRA.
Safety Responsibilities
Employees are expected to:
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses.
- Operate equipment safely and only after receiving proper training.
