Important Note: This is an experienced-level role assisting in Mohs surgery in a dermatology practice. A minimum of 2 years of active, hands-on clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Surgery Tech or Nurse (RN or LPN) is a strict requirement for consideration. We are unable to consider recent graduates or entry-level applicants at this time.
Job Summary
We are searching for an energetic and experienced Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech or Nurse to assist with surgery and perform other clinical and administrative duties to keep our busy general dermatology and Mohs surgery practice running efficiently.
**This is a full time position that works Monday - Friday**
What We're Looking For:
- Availability to start work at 6:30 AM and work Monday - Friday
- Ability to think critically and prioritize competing tasks
- Flexibility to work with multiple physicians and providers
- Willingness to work hard as part of a productive and efficient team
Responsibilities:
- Escorting patients throughout the office, obtaining medical history, documenting the visit/exam, and relaying patient concerns and questions to the physician / provider
- Actively assisting the physician with dermatologic surgery - prepping the patient, maintaining a sterile field, retracting, cutting suture, dressing wounds following the procedure, instructing patients on post operative care, etc.
- Administrative "desk" work - calling patients and relaying results, refilling medications, responding to patient messages, etc.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or similar role in a clinical or hospital setting
- High school degree or equivalent
- Familiarity with EMA Electronic Health Records systems is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and work well independently or as part of a team
