Duties/Responsibilities:
Inventory Costing and Controls:
- Manage annual cost revaluation.
- Investigate job order variances and provide Plant Managers with insight into minimizing all production variances (materials, labor and overhead).
- Monitor all aspects of scrap inventory from identification on Job Order to proper barrel designation.
- Manage monthly metals reconciliation to the ledger and bank balances.
- Coordinates annual physical inventory counts as needed.
- Establish annual cycle count schedule for each location and ensure plants’ compliance with the company’s Cycle Count Policy.
- Investigate Metal gains and losses through the inventory control personnel under the cycle count program and Work Order management for all locations.
- Manage quarterly Excess and Obsolete inventory reviews and ensure proper approvals of scrap disposition.
- Work with applicable personnel to update item masters as necessary.
- Roll standard cost for individual items as needed.
- Assist plant managers with improvement of Metal turns and timeliness of scheduled metal cleanouts.
- Participate in controlling Bill of Material set-up as it relates to costs.
- Assist plant managers with understanding labor discrepancies from routers.
- Create a process for inventory adjustments review and approval.
- Review various inventory transactions in the M2M system.
- Participate in new product introduction including items stage gate review process.
- Perform timely and accurate month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Provide supporting documents for an annual financial audit.
- Prepare and monitor quarterly forecasts and annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and accurate financial reporting.
- Validate budgeted headcount to production hours during annual budget process.
- Prepare various gross profit reports.
- Support program manager evaluation of product costs and review of gross margins.
- Participate in merger and acquisition activities.
- Product and customer level assessment.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- Ability to navigate Job Costing/Inventory Control System.
- Command of various costing techniques.
- Strong Excel skills are crucial.
- Good written and oral communication skills with management and personnel are necessary.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- An affinity for numbers is vital.
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control.
- Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting, specifically standard costing.
- 3 years of experience in supervising others
- 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Spanish speaker is a plus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
- Some domestic and international travel might be required.
