About the role
We're a German sausage cart serving the Metro Detroit area and beyond, with a passion for great food and even better service. We're looking for a friendly, reliable person to join us on a flexible, on-and-off basis — primarily for larger events over weekends and occasional catering gigs.
This role starts as casual and on-call, but for the right person there's real potential to grow into more regular hours as we take on more events.
What you'll be doing
- Greeting customers and taking orders with a warm, welcoming attitude
- Preparing and serving traditional German sausages and accompaniments
- Handling cash and card payments accurately
- Keeping the cart clean, stocked, and organised throughout your shift
- Assisting with catering events on occasion — setup, service, and breakdown
- Travelling to events in the Metro Detroit area and occasionally further afield
Ideal candidate
✔People-first personality — you genuinely enjoy interacting with customers and making their day a little better
✔Previous customer service experience — retail, hospitality, or food service all count (this matters more than any food background)
✔Dependable and flexible — available for weekend events on an on-call basis, with some travel involved
✔Comfortable outdoors — happy working in all kinds of weather
✔Quick on your feet — able to keep up during a busy rush without losing your cool
Bonus: a bit of German
Some German language skills are a definite plus — even a few phrases goes a long way with our regulars. But it's not a deal-breaker. Wir bringen dir den Rest bei! (We'll teach you the rest!)
Room to grow
This starts as a casual, on-call position — but we're growing. The right person will have the opportunity to take on more regular hours as our event schedule expands.
Pay
Competitive and negotiable depending on your experience. We value what you bring to the cart — the more relevant your background, the better the offer.
