Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating events; preparation of studies; and compose higher level correspondence such as audits, memorandums, and/or policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

- Support regional Student Activities, Educational Curriculum, Content and Standards, Junior Reserve Officers' Training (JROTC), and Interscholastic Athletic programs.
- Compose policy letters, guidance memorandums, and various correspondence.
- Coordinate events and provide facilities oversight.
- Maintain comprehensive databases used to make organizational decisions and prepare reports.
- Prepare written analyses, plans, and reports.
- Provide oversight of the Student Activity Program budget.
- Prepare correspondence for high-level military and congressional review.
- Evaluate systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions.
- Conduct oversight evaluations of students activities programs.
- Develop systems for inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate compliance with athletic program policies and safety standards.
Conditions of employment
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
