Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
DSH–Napa is located on a scenic, park-like campus in the heart of Napa Valley, offering a unique work environment that blends public service with wellness, accessibility, and work-life balance. The hospital campus is designed to support employees with convenient, family-friendly, and health-focused amenities, including the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18.
• Criminal background clearance per CCR Title 22 §100108.06.
• Annual respiratory protection and medical clearance per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134.
• Valid Certifications/Licenses: Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR/AED; EMT-B or Paramedic (CCR Title 22); SFT Firefighter I Certification (2013 or 2019) or equivalent CAL FIRE/NWCG/NFPA training; FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800; California Driver’s License (must obtain Firefighter Endorsement within one year)
Salary : $58,092 - $77,448
