Department of Revenue is recruiting for an Appraiser Analyst 2 position. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Property Tax Division in the Vast Unit. This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in-state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.
In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.
What You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
  • Asist and support industrial and centrally assessed property return processing and annual statement appraisals.
  • Appraise less complex industrial properties to estimate real market value for ad valorem tax purposes.
  • Assist Appraiser Analyst 3’s and 4’s in the appraisal of major utility and industrial property to estimate the RMV for ad valorem tax purposes.
  • Assist and support industrial property return processing and annual statement appraisals.
  • Participate in the development of approved appraisal methods and the implementation of these methods in the appraisal process.
  • Driving to remote locations to conduct appraisals or review appraisals.

This Is What You Need to Qualify

Must possess Registered Appraiser status through the State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services or the ability to obtain within six months of hire; AND one of the following:

Three (3) years of experience in appraisals, accounting, or auditing;
OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, real estate, business administration, forestry, engineering, or a related field;
OR
An associate degree in property appraisal or real estate technology or a related field AND one and a half (1.5) years of appraisal experience.
Appraisal experience must be obtained under appraiser registration, licensure, or certification granted by a state regulatory agency.

NOTE: Some positions may require a valid State of Oregon driver's license.

NOTE: Appraisal experience gained under appraiser certification or licensure granted by a state regulatory agency may be substituted for registered appraisal experience.

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
