THIS POSITION REQUIRES FULL-TIME, ON-SITE PRESENCE IN SANTA FE.

to distributing funds for a wide range of programs and initiatives that affect the lives of nearly every New Mexican.

Why does the job exist?

Central Payroll is looking for a creative, energetic, and strategic Payroll Trainer who has proven leadership to lead the Central Payroll statewide training development, including but not limited to: statewide Agency training, SOP (standard operating procedure) development for Central Payroll, training material and presentation development and on line learning, maintain and document the training program including testing, scheduling, tracking and announcements. This is a hands-on position responsible for delivering core training resource functions (Agency and employee development) as well as providing Agency payroll assistance

How does it get done?

This position is the trainer for Central Payroll training department and supports the Central Payroll mission and goals. The Payroll Trainer shall provide tracking and training to Agency HR staff and Agency management on all aspects of payroll.  This position will direct and complete training presentations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis; develop training materials and online learning systems. Will assist with cross training of Central Payroll staff and will role fill for Agency or Central Payroll as needed.  This position will participate in system testing, FSS management and any procedure documentation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the Payroll Trainer position will have a minimum of 5 years directly related experience in payroll.  They will have training experience.  They will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, TEAMS, Word, PP and Excel.  ELM experience desired.  They will be able to assess training needs, adapt teaching styles and can design and present training material. The Payroll Trainer will: 1. Establish credibility and rapport with line and Agency management and their teams by providing accountable and comprehensive training. 2. Act as a payroll consultant. 3.Recommend new approaches, procedures for continuous improvement of the Central Payroll function and overall operations. 4. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization through effective verbal dialogs and written communications, as well as presentations to small and large groups of varying levels. The selected candidate must have the ability to design, present and train all staff on varying levels. 5. Establish and maintain positive relationships with executives, management staff and employees in general.

Minimum Qualification

Associate's Degree and three (3) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

State issued ID or Driver's License.

Pre-employment criminal background check is required, and employment is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.  Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.  Travel is required for conducting training, meetings and agency assistance.  Possibility to work from Albuquerque satellite office 2 days per week.
