Position Description:
The Surplus Property Agent II position is located in the Office of Printing, Mail Services & Surplus Property. This position functions as a Surplus Property Agent in the specialty area in the Federal Surplus Program. This position provides customer service in the day-to-day operations at Federal Surplus Property and to serve the donees, including State agencies and other government entities, including but not limited to schools, law enforcement, cities, and counties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Federal Program Consultant with acquiring property by screening, on-site inspections, Federal agency offerings and/or thru the internet.
- Select and request property based on donee requests or potential market demand. Makes recommendations whether to market the property in place or do direct transfers to the donees.
- Operates a commercial motor vehicle (truck) with a gross vehicle weight of over 26,000 pounds. As required, makes trips to various locations within and out of state to screen, inspect and pick up property for donees.
- Receive, price and display property in the warehouse. Checks in property and coordinates placement and arrangement of property in warehouse.
- Annually performs compliance reviews for perpetual property throughout the state as mandated by GSA.
- Screens for property thru on-site visits, on-line or thru vehicle auctions.
- Manage the inventory quarterly to ensure an accurate annual report for the GSA audit.
- Purchase vehicles for donees thru GSA reimbursable vehicle program.
- Maintains meticulous documentation of donee files in accordance with GSA regulations and procedures.
- Develop, organize and prepare for public sales via GSA live or website auctions, public auctions, or sealed bid offerings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Warehousing experience including loading and unloading materials, packaging, inventory control and verifying orders and shipment
- Basic computer skills/data entry experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of forklift experience.
Special Skills, Abilities, Certifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License for driving a manual transmission at the time of hire
