Position Description
The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a comprehensive PE program from R - 6 that promotes physical activity, health, teamwork, and overall student wellbeing in the primary school context.
Job Specification (Key Responsibilities)
Plan, implement, and review high-quality Physical Education programs that cater for a range of student abilities, in line with the Australian Curriculum.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that encourages student participation, personal best, teamwork, and physical wellbeing.
Assess and report on student achievement using a range of strategies and tools in accordance with school and Departmental policy.
Organise and lead whole-school sport carnivals, SAPSASA participation, and other extra-curricular sporting events.
Maintain professional and respectful communication with students, staff, and families.
Actively contribute to the life of the school by participating in staff meetings, professional development, school priorities, and relevant committees.
Support school-wide wellbeing, safe practices, and behaviour management strategies.
Ensure compliance with Department for Education policies and procedures, including mandatory reporting, child protection, and work health and safety.
Undertake yard supervision and other duties as directed by the Principal.
Person Specification (Selection Criteria)
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective and engaging PE lessons for primary-aged students.
Proven ability to create an inclusive classroom environment, catering for diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
