About The Role
The Student Support Services School Buy-In Team works in partnership with preschool and school leadership to develop tailored and accountable school-based allied health projects. As a member of this team, the School Based Speech Pathologist contributes contemporary speech pathology knowledge to school improvement planning.
Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, as such we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being. This project-based position involves supporting the development and delivery of high-quality, multi-tiered evidence informed interventions and practices aimed at enhancing communication, academic performance and overall wellbeing of learners. With support from the School Buy-In Senior Speech Pathologist, this
position will contribute to project implementation, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure intended outcomes are achieved.
Kaurna Plains School Is a Reception To Year 12 School Situated In Adelaide’s Northern Suburbs, Catering Predominantly For Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Students. In Partnering With School-based Speech Pathology Services, This Project Aims To Achieve The Following Outcomes In Collaboration With Local Leadership Teams
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
AHP2 $94,997 - $110,052 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (12%)

- Establish a culturally responsive language and literacy screening process for the year 7 and 8 cohort..
- Support middle and secondary school educators to intentionally embed oral language teaching strategies within classroom practice to meet the language learning needs of students.
- Establish data-informed small group language and literacy interventions within the middle school setting.
- Working collaboratively with leadership to embed agreed culturally responsive screening processes and practices
- Providing coaching and/or professional learning for staff
- Collaborating with key staff to undertake contextualised data analysis and inform decision-making processes
- Supporting the implementation and fidelity of wave 1 and wave 2 interventions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in speech pathology
- Registration/eligibility to register with Speech Pathology Australia
- Commitment to culturally responsive practice
- Demonstrated experience working with children and young people with a range of needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to continuous professional development
