Responsibilities
The inventory control clerk/material handler will assist in inventory type functions, at the same time, help process inbound material, scan and load outbound finished goods, move material to the final location (Use FIFO), and keep all areas of the warehouse clean and organized.
General Duties
- Unload incoming deliveries, fill out paperwork (Incoming Goods Sheet), and update warehouse management systems.
- Labeling, scanning, and processing orders for shipment.
- Conduct cycle counts, inspects products for damage, and maintain accurate inventory counts. Microsoft Excel is used to track all cycle counts and KPIs associated with performance.
- Keep aisles, workstations, and storage areas clean, organized, and following all safety guidelines established for warehousing.
- BOLs & packing slips are completed in Microsoft Excel and must be printed for each truck departing DePalo Foods.
- Safely use forklifts and pallet jacks. DePalo training will be required. Follow all food safety, allergen control, and workplace safety procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Maintain a clean & organized work area.
- Performs other related duties as requested by management
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects (often 40-50 lbs.), climb ladders, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Strong attention to detail, proficiency with inventory software/scanners, Microsoft Excel, great attendance, good handwriting skills, and basic math skills.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold storage/freezers.
- Comply with all company safety rules and OSHA regulations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
