Denver Transit Operators, (DTO) is a privately held company that has a 29-year contract with RTD to operate and maintain the new commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area. What Will You Do?

The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is a multidisciplinary technician that performs mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and HVAC inspections and repairs on Denver Transit Operators fleet of 66 Commuter Railcars. Technicians are primarily responsible for the daily inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications, and overhauls of the Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) commuter railcars. This includes conducting detailed Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) inspections, diagnosing failed components as well as removing, repairing, and replacing parts and components as necessary, while using tools and equipment in a safe and professional manner. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules & regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration and their Drug & Alcohol policy.

Training You Can Expect:

Our Repair Technicians play an important part in keeping our locomotives on the move. Almost every system on the locomotive is a complex electrical system.  We will teach you the dynamic workings of our locomotives, and how to ensure they are running in peak condition.  We will also teach you how to use tools and equipment you will not find in any other shop or on any construction site.  Our locomotives are built using new technology and are state-of-the-art railcars.
