Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Business/EDI Analyst plays a dual role at the intersection of business analysis and electronic data interchange, supporting the operational, technical and project needs of a nonprofit health plan.

In this position, the analyst will gather and document business requirements, facilitate cross-functional communication between clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders, and support complex workflows into clear, actionable specifications. Equal weight is placed on the EDI side of the role, where the analyst will monitor, troubleshoot, and support the processing of HIPAA-compliant electronic transactions - including 837 claim files and 835 remittance advices - ensuring accurate and timely data exchange between the health plan and its trading partners.

The ideal candidate has experience in a healthcare or managed care environment, with working exposure to both business analysis disciplines and EDI file formats and standards. A strong attention to detail, comfort navigating ambiguity across business and technical teams, and a foundational understanding of HIPAA transaction sets are essential to success in this role.
