VP, Finance – Job Description

Dentira is seeking an experienced VP of Finance. The VP of Finance will lead Finance and Accounting Operations, providing leadership in all aspects of financial and business management.
You will be responsible for all financial functions, including strategic planning and analysis; cash flow management; financial accounting and control; budgeting & forecasting; treasury, audit, and taxes; and potential support of corporate development opportunities.
The ideal candidate has built the systems and processes that underpin a modern finance function and can balance being a doer and a leader, working in a hands-on, high powered small team.

What You’ll Be Doing
Leadership:
· Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO, CFO and Executive Leadership Team, contributing financial insight and guidance to shape company strategy and priorities.
· Partner closely with internal and investor stakeholders to provide financial clarity, accountability, and operational alignment across all major KPIs.
· Drive key support for Board partners and board reporting cadences including the production of reporting packs, board decks, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Financial & Business Planning:
· Partner with CFO on full planning cycle: annual budget, quarterly forecasts, rolling projections. Build models that support scenario planning and strategic decision-making, and assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization to support long-term goals.
· Oversee AP, AR, core GL and monthly closing processes.
· Support cash, working capital, treasury and tax planning to support growth.
· Partner closely with all functions to analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, and operations.
· Partner with CFO and GTM leadership to inform a metrics driven growth strategy with optimized sales and marketing expenditure and expansion/retention economics, particularly as the business expands into multiple market segments.
Operations and Systems:
· Scale up and improve the finance & accounting organization for a fast-growing SaaS company, including people, processes, systems and controls, leaning into AI where prudent.
· Establish and execute on a forward-looking finance systems roadmap aligned with the future-state needs of a high-growth SaaS enterprise, ensuring systems and infrastructure can support increasing complexity and scale.
People Leadership:
· Recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing finance & accounting team.
· Navigate seamlessly between operating as an executive, front-line manager and coach with a passion for developing people.
What You’ll Need
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting. CPA is strongly preferred. Master’s Degree is a plus.
· 8 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership; ideally building or scaling a finance function at a growth stage software business.
- Proven mastery and deep fluency of SaaS metrics and business models (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, GRR) with the ability to translate insight into action.
· Strong financial modeling expertise to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and investor/board communication.
· Exceptional communication skills and executive presence; trusted partner to CEOs, boards and investors.
· Track record of building, leading and mentoring high-performing teams in a metrics-driven culture.
