What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Administrative Receptionist position at Dental Oral Surgery?
Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth
- Answer and route phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk workflow
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Verify insurance and assist with billing inquiries
- Maintain and update patient records with attention to accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide administrative support
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments
- Monitor and maintain front office supplies and ensure the reception area remains organized and welcoming
- Support a positive patient experience from the first point of contact through the end of the visit
Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a dental, medical, or oral surgery office preferred
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a patient-first mindset
- Proficiency with scheduling systems and dental/medical software (Dentrix Ascend experience a plus)
- Knowledge of medical/dental terminology and insurance processes helpful
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other languages) is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
