Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and progress
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and ensure a sterile environment.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings with proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft preferred
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide specialized care for children when needed.
