Parts Advisor
REPORTS TO: Parts Manager
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: $17 an hour plus commission of Parts Departments Gross
POSITION SUMMARY: Promote sales of parts and accessories to internal, retail, and wholesale customers while maintaining customer satisfaction.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid Michigan driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- Ability to read, speak and write English in order fulfill job functions in an understandable way
- Ability to operate a computer and telephone system
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service in accordance with DeNooyer Chevrolet standards, policies, and procedures
- Have a working knowledge of vehicle parts and diagnostics for problem solving
- Speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers
- Handle telephone orders efficiently, including preparation of necessary paperwork thoroughly and accurately
- Ability to retrieve, load and deliver items of various sizes and weights (up to 125 lbs.) in operable and undamaged condition
- Maintain a working knowledge of ADP Parts Inventory and Snap-On Electronic Parts Catalog
- Ability to identify, comprehend, and act on changing customer requirements
- Sell parts at a profit; includes preparing counter sales ticket thoroughly and accurately and pulling parts from stock as necessary
- Perform extensive numerical calculations with a high degree of accuracy
- Handle payment for parts, operate cash register and credit card reader
- Fill parts orders as needed
- Assist other team mates as needed with tasks such as: receiving parts in shipping area, stocking parts, keeping inventory updated
- Assist with special orders, including completing necessary paperwork and notifying customer as to status of order
- Maintain good housekeeping habits within counter/customer area and warehouse area
- Participate in annual inventory count
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All other duties as assigned
- Relating positively with diverse groups of people (customers and staff)
- Comply with all DeNooyer Chevrolet policies and procedures
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and stretch
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to work in conditions such as: varying temperatures, noise, and fumes.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary : $38,000 - $50,000
