Line Cook

A Denny's Line Cook is responsible for the fast, accurate preparation, plating, and execution of all menu items. The role requires following set recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and staying calm under pressure in a high-volume, team-oriented kitchen environment. Graveyard 9pm to 5am (Clifton location) Swing & Morning Cook both locations (5am-2pm or 2pm-10pm Horizon Drive)

• Food Preparation: Prepares and cooks all menu items to exact brand standards, recipes, and proper food temperatures.
• Station Management: Sets up and stocks your assigned station with all necessary supplies before and during your shift.
• Plating & Presentation: Ensures every dish looks great, adheres to special guest requests, and provides total guest satisfaction.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment, following all health and safety regulations.
• Inventory & Waste: Monitors food waste and practices proper cost controls.
• Teamwork: Willingly assists other team members (servers, hosts, fellow cooks) without being asked.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a 4 to 8-hour shift, especially during busy peak hours.
• Capable of lifting and carrying supplies and food trays weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable bending, stooping, reaching, and operating in a confined workspace.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot kitchens and cold freezers).

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience as a line cook or in a similar food preparation role is preferred.
• Must have basic math skills and be able to read tickets, recipes, and product specifications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
