ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with school administration to organize musical programs for civic functions and school productions.
- Maintain student grading and attendance records.
- Teach skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music in relation to the level being taught.
- Teach general styles of music along with classical piano, practices and theory.
- Teach singing to students from beginner to advanced levels.
- Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
- Deep understanding of music theory, music education and general music.
- Promote learning and growth of all students and create a safe and effective classroom environment with cultural proficiency.
- Maintain student behavioral standards to ensure a productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices and performances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts certification in area of music K-12.
- Knowledge of choral techniques
- SEI qualified
