What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Laborer position at Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sports Turf Technician
- Assist in the daily operations related to the maintenance and upkeep of the sports fields, adjoining areas and equipment.
- Perform turf grass maintenance operations at DYRSD fields and adjoining common areas including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, edging, aeration, fertilization, irrigation, over seeding, general repairs, spring/fall clean up.
- Litter control and general cleanliness of all the playing surfaces and surrounding common areas in addition to the outdoor running track
- Field lining on DY sports fields, including layout and precise lines striping for soccer, lacrosse, track and field, field hockey, and football fields.
- Painting for campus recreation programs and specialized painting such as logos, as required.
- Maintains mulch beds along with hardscape areas.
- Minor maintenance to all related equipment as required, including maintaining cleanliness.
- Assists in snow removal operation.
- Assists with moving and special events and grounds maintenance crews.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles, lift/move equipment, materials, supplies, and tools; wear protective clothing as required by work environment or government regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid State Driver’s License, required
- One or more years’ experience in Athletic Field Maintenance
