Overview
The Dennis & Co Auto Group seeks a proactive, service-oriented IT Support Specialist to elevate our automotive group’s technology experience. In this position, you’ll serve as the primary liaison between our technical consultant team, dealership staff, and external vendors—ensuring seamless operations in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. The role will be based in Pearl River, NY and will require local travel to our other locations as needed. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the backbone of our technology operations, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting technical issues, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining our IT infrastructure. Your expertise will empower users to maximize their productivity while navigating various operating systems and software applications. What you’ll do
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer and software issues reported by staff.
- Update network applications as required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software.
- Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
- Liaison for dealership staff and vendors.
- Monitor and remove virus, spyware, and other non-authorized software.
- Provide technical support for hardware and software issues across various platforms including Office 365, ADP workforce Now and CDK.
- Manage and maintain computer systems, ensuring optimal performance and security through effective desktop support.
- Configure and support VPN connections, firewalls, and local area networks (LAN) to ensure secure access to resources.
- Assist users with Microsoft Office applications and other essential software to enhance their productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to implement IT solutions that improve overall efficiency within the organization.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by communicating effectively with users to understand their needs and provide timely resolutions.
- Complete special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in technical support practices with a strong understanding of computer management and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components including computer hardware, operating systems, and network configurations.
- Minimum of five (5) years prior experience with providing workstation support with a focus on excellent customer service is required. As well as experience in a Windows-centric, multi-location environment.
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects.
- Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of software troubleshooting techniques across various platforms.
- Strong communication skills that foster collaboration with both technical teams and end-users.
- Proven track record troubleshooting desktops, servers, network infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple high-impact tasks.
