Job Summary:
A growing automotive group is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with prior experience working across multiple payroll systems. The incumbent will work under the direction of a senior team member and play a critical role in weekly payroll preparation and processing, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory laws, auditing payroll records and producing essential reporting. The right individual will be highly detail-oriented, a quick learner, and thrive under pressure while maintaining the utmost confidentiality. Experience in multi-location payroll in a dealership environment is strongly required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Full-cycle payroll processing, including new hire setup, terminations, timecard validation, adjustments, and garnishments
- Primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolution of discrepancies
- Maintain accurate employee payroll and timekeeping records
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 reconciliation and reporting
- Conduct invoice and payroll audits as needed
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams for cross-functional accuracy and alignment
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant payroll experience required
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required; familiarity with Paylocity, Paychex, or other platforms strongly preferred
- Prior multi-location payroll processing experience required
- Prior experience in a Automotive Dealership industry required
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax regulations and compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and interruptions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate initiative, independence, and a high level of discretion
- Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Accounting or finance background preferred
What We Offer:
- Yearly salary: $65,000 – $70,000 based on experience
