Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary front-office operations, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine love for animals. This role involves managing client interactions, coordinating appointments, and supporting veterinary staff to ensure a smooth and efficient clinic environment. Candidates with kennel experience, animal handling skills, and veterinary terminology knowledge will thrive in this position.
We have a phase training program that as you advance through your training, your wages will advance. Those without any experience can expect to be started at minimum wage, but will have opportunities to advance according to how fast and well they learn the required tasks. There may be opportunities for certain qualified team members to cross train as vet assistants (not guaranteed).
Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic.
- Schedule appointments accurately while managing the clinic’s calendar to optimize workflow.
- Handle medical collections efficiently, ensuring accurate billing and payment processing.
- Maintain detailed client records and update patient information with precision.
- Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Support veterinary staff by coordinating laboratory work, imaging appointments, and follow-up care.
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and pets alike.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and treatment plans.
Skills
- Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar customer service role within a veterinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and pet care procedures.
- Experience handling animals in kennel or clinical environments; dog handling and animal husbandry skills are highly valued.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients, team members, and external vendors.
- Knowledge of Cornerstone, Google Sheets & Docs, Microsoft Excel/Word helpful.

Pay: $13.73 - $16.23 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
