Foreign Language Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Teach Foreign Language (e.g, Spanish, French, etc.) courses for team members at the facility.

• Create and develop materials associated with the courses taught.

• Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and trainings to stay updated and enhance teaching skills.

• Participate in recruitment events and culminating activities to support the program and engage with the community.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods: Including grammar, reading, writing, and listening/speaking.

• Native-like fluency: Good command of written and spoken (including foreign language (e.g., Spanish, French, etc.) and English

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Essential for managing course materials and communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education and Experience:

o Bachelor's degree: In a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, French, etc.), Teaching, or a related field.

o 3 years teaching experience: In adult education.

• Special Skills:

o Strong classroom management skills: Organizational and planning skills, ability to give clear, concise directions and explanations.

o Proficiency in a second language: Enhances communication with students from diverse backgrounds.

o Cross-cultural sensitivity: Essential for understanding and addressing the needs of students from various cultural backgrounds.

o Excellent technology application skills and experience: To integrate technology effectively into teaching.
