Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Utilize utility locating tools to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities begin.
- Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Assist with construction grading, trenching, backfilling, and other utility-related tasks to ensure project specifications are met precisely.
- Drive commercial trucks as needed for transporting equipment, materials, or personnel between job sites while adhering to all commercial driving regulations.
- Support construction utility work by adhering to detailed project plans, following safety protocols, and collaborating effectively with team members.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment in a utility or general construction setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction site safety regulations including federal standards and equipment safety procedures.
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques and tools used in underground utility detection.
- Previous experience in excavation, construction grading, water truck operation, and general utility work is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record for commercial truck driving responsibilities (preferred but required).
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a strong plus.
- Construction experience involving utility installation or maintenance projects will help ensure success in this role.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
