Human Resources Business Partner

Working under the direction of the Director of Payroll, Human Resources Business Partner serves as a liaison between departments for ensuring that business and payroll transactions adhere to university policy. HR Business Partners will also serve as leaders for collecting feedback from departments, employees and administrators to evaluate business process changes in the future.

HR Business Partners will also participate in employee engagement, recognition and development activities that may require work outside the standard 40 hour work week.

Individuals in this role, will be responsible for helping to support employee developments and engagement as well as strategic business processes for the university.

Qualifications and Skills:

Due to the nature of projects for review and implementation of new business processes, Project Management certification is required.

Knowledge of employee relations such as performance and/or conduct based actions.
Knowledge of HR/personnel practices and related laws/regulations.
Knowledge of investigative and analytical techniques, procedures, and requirements.
Knowledge of conflict resolution/mediation practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Interviewing and mediation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to utilize critical thinking and exercise sound judgment related to complex employee matters.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to research, interpret, and provide analysis of policies and related laws/regulations.
Ability to consistently make sound operational and business decisions and influence positive outcomes.
Ability to explain, question, actively listen, and facilitate the communication of others.
Ability to leave participants feeling heard and treated with respect.
