POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining the production schedule to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal use of labor and equipment. This role works closely with Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Customer Service to balance demand with capacity while minimizing downtime and delays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Planning & Scheduling
• Create and maintain daily, weekly, and long‑range production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory requirements
• Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate equipment issues, material shortages, quality holds, or staffing changes
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure jobs move through the production cycle on time
• Plan capacity and load-level production resources to avoid bottlenecks
Coordination & Communication
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Leads to confirm job readiness and resolve scheduling conflicts
• Work with Procurement and Inventory Control to ensure material availability for scheduled jobs
• Communicate schedule changes promptly to all stakeholders
• Attend daily production meetings and provide schedule updates and KPIs
Data & Systems Management
• Maintain accurate production data in ERP/MRP systems (IQMS)
• Review and validate work orders, bills of materials (BOM), and routings for accuracy
• Generate and distribute production reports and schedule dashboards
Continuous Improvement
• Analyze scheduling performance, including adherence, cycle times, and production delays
• Recommend process improvements to enhance throughput and reduce lead times
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S and value stream mapping

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when entering designated production areas
• Work involves routine use of computers, phones, office equipment, and occasional interaction with production equipment for schedule verification

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2–4 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production capacity, and shop floor operations
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, preferred experience with IQMS
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
• Experience in a high‑mix/low‑volume or high‑volume manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• APICS CPIM/CSCP certification (or willingness to pursue)
