Job Title: Manufacturing Production Scheduler

Job Description

The Manufacturing Production Scheduler develops, coordinates, and maintains a detailed production schedule to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal utilization of labor and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Customer Service to balance customer demand with plant capacity, minimize downtime and delays, and proactively anticipate schedule changes. The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing scheduling expertise with a visionary mindset, using ERP systems and data-driven insights to continuously improve production planning and support the long-term success of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain a detailed production schedule that supports on-time delivery and efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Customer Service to align production plans with demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and customer requirements.
  • Continuously monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to minimize downtime, bottlenecks, and delays.
  • Anticipate upcoming changes in demand, capacity, and material availability, and revise the schedule accordingly rather than focusing only on immediate tasks.
  • Use ERP systems to create, update, and track production orders, ensuring data accuracy and timely communication of schedule changes.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure materials and components are available in alignment with the production schedule.
  • Communicate schedule priorities, changes, and constraints clearly to production teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks to on-time delivery, proposing alternative plans or solutions to maintain customer commitments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing schedule performance, identifying recurring issues, and recommending process enhancements.
  • Leverage project management principles to manage multiple production lines, orders, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Work with leadership to support long-term capacity planning and prepare for increased production volumes.
  • Utilize knowledge of aerospace-related requirements, including Boeing expectations when applicable, to ensure scheduling supports critical customer needs.

Essential Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically focused on production scheduling, planning, or related operations roles.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or supply chain context.
  • Strong understanding of production, manufacturing processes, and shop-floor operations.
  • Experience in schedule planning and coordinating multiple jobs, resources, and priorities.
  • Background in supply chain, inventory, and logistics coordination within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to think strategically and act as a visionary, looking beyond the current schedule to anticipate and plan for future changes.
  • Solid project management skills, including managing timelines, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving efficiency.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Customer Service teams.
  • Comfort using ERP software to manage production orders, inventory data, and scheduling information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with IQMS ERP system is a significant plus.
  • Experience working with Boeing or in an aerospace-related manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with JobBOSS or similar job-based manufacturing systems on the metal side of operations is an advantage.
  • Exposure to global or multi-site manufacturing organizations.
  • Interest in professional growth and openness to training and career advancement opportunities.
