Dethmers Manufacturing (DEMCO) in Boyden is looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. Responsibilities include managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices. Ultimately this position will help our accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions. Successful applicants must be flexible, able to manage multiple ongoing projects and foster a cooperative team environment. This position will be full-time.
Primary Duties:
· Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
· Process expense reimbursement forms.
· Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
· Maintain digital and physical financial records.
· Prepare government filings.
· Participate in annual audits.
· Maintain report of goods received not invoiced.
· Assist with monitoring actuals to budgeted financial records.
· Monitor and reconcile inventory reports to financial records.
Requirements
- Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
- Familiarity with finance regulations.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks).
- Organization skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Associate degree or certificate in accounting preferred.
