About Demarc

Demarc Telecom & Utility LLC is an established telecommunications and utility contractor serving colleges, municipalities, commercial organizations, communications companies, and government customers throughout New England.

Demarc is expanding its capabilities to include commercial electrical services. We are seeking an experienced Massachusetts Master Electrician who will serve as our Licensee of Record and help build the electrical division from the ground up.

This is a hands on position. During the initial growth of the division, the successful candidate will personally perform electrical installations, service calls, troubleshooting, estimating, permitting, and inspections. As the division grows, the role will develop into a leadership position responsible for supervising electricians and apprentices, managing projects, and expanding customer relationships.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Massachusetts Licensee of Record for Demarc Telecom & Utility LLC.
  • Perform commercial electrical installations, service calls, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Install receptacles, dedicated circuits, equipment power supplies, panels, feeders, and electrical distribution components.
  • Install conduit, pull conductors, and complete electrical work in network closets, server rooms, telecommunications facilities, and commercial buildings.
  • Support power requirements for telecommunications equipment, UPS systems, network infrastructure, EV chargers, and other customer equipment.
  • Conduct customer walkthroughs and prepare labor and material estimates.
  • Obtain electrical permits and coordinate required inspections.
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with the Massachusetts Electrical Code, applicable regulations, permit requirements, and company safety standards.
  • Review electrical scopes, plans, installation methods, and staffing requirements.
  • Supervise journeyperson electricians and registered apprentices as the division grows.
  • Develop electrical safety procedures, quality standards, estimating tools, and field documentation.
  • Maintain accurate permit, inspection, testing, and project closeout records.
  • Work directly with Demarc management to develop the electrical division and identify opportunities with existing and new customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts Master Electrician license in good standing.
  • Willingness and eligibility to serve as Demarc’s Massachusetts Licensee of Record.
  • At least five years of commercial electrical experience.
  • Strong hands on experience with commercial service, branch circuits, conduit, distribution equipment, troubleshooting, and electrical installations.
  • Experience obtaining permits and working with municipal electrical inspectors.
  • Experience supervising electricians and apprentices.
  • Ability to estimate labor, materials, equipment, and project schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and workplace safety requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while helping develop a new electrical operation.

Preferred Experience

  • Electrical work in telecommunications facilities, network closets, server rooms, data centers, colleges, municipal facilities, or commercial buildings.
  • UPS systems, equipment power supplies, generators, DC power, or critical power infrastructure.
  • EV charging installations.
  • Small commercial renovations and tenant buildouts.
  • Project management, estimating, scheduling, or business development.
  • Experience creating procedures and mentoring field employees.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $52 to $58 per hour, based on experience.
  • Overtime opportunities based on workload and employee classification.
  • Company vehicle and fuel card.
  • Company provided phone and necessary technology.
  • Health insurance and company benefits.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Company paid license renewals and approved continuing education.
  • Annual performance bonus opportunity.
  • Opportunity to build and lead a new electrical division within an established contractor.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced Massachusetts Master Electrician who still enjoys performing fieldwork but is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.

This person should be comfortable working with tools, meeting customers, estimating projects, pulling permits, managing inspections, and supervising employees. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape Demarc’s electrical operation and transition into a broader management role as revenue and staffing grow.

About the Opportunity

Demarc already has established relationships in the telecommunications, higher education, municipal, commercial, and utility markets. The electrical division will initially focus on electrical services that complement Demarc’s existing network cabling, fiber optic, outside plant, and telecommunications construction capabilities.

This is an opportunity to join a growing contractor and play a central role in developing a new business division.

Please submit your resume and include the following information:

  • Massachusetts Master Electrician license number.
