Demand.io is a profitable, founder-led consumer AI commerce player driving $1B in annual GMV. We are the team behind SimplyCodes (the #1 AI-powered savings tool) and Product.ai (emerging Axiomatic Intelligence shopping assistant).
We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to operate as a Principal Architect of our user experience. This is a high-leverage position for a "Super IC" who operates as a strategic peer to the Founder. You will not iterate on legacy patterns; you will invent the foundational interaction language for the post-search, AI-native economy. We are pivoting from "Search" (Listing options) to "Adjudication" (Judging truth), and we need a designer to invent the interface for that shift.
What You Will Build
You will not be polishing buttons. You will be architecting the strategic engines of the company.
- Architect the Conversational Operating System: You will design the 0-to-1 interaction models for our Intelligence Engine (Product.ai). You must solve the "Trust Problem": How does a human interface with an AI that doesn't just chat, but actively adjudicates product quality?
- Define the "Glass Box" Interface: We reject "Black Box" AI. You will design visual systems that expose the Reasoning Trace of the AI. You will turn complex logic trails into intuitive, verifiable user experiences that build trust without overwhelming the user.
- Systematize the Design Physics: You will move beyond ad-hoc screens to build a Unified Design System that governs both human and AI execution. You will define the constraints (physics) that allow our interfaces to scale across Web, Mobile, and Agentic surfaces.
- Execute High-Fidelity Prototypes: We do not trade in static mocks. You will build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to validate complex state management and conversational flows before engineering writes a single line of code.

Compensation & Ownership
We operate as a high-performance studio, not a typical corporation. We share the upside directly with the builders.
- Base Salary: $250,000 – $375,000. We target the 80th percentile to attract 1-of-1 talent. Your base covers your life; your equity builds your freedom.
