POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the successful execution of multi-family and commercial HVAC and Plumbing construction projects across multiple job sites. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong field experience in large-scale multi-family and commercial construction environments, with the ability to manage multiple teams, projects, and priorities simultaneously. The Construction Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, General Contractors, and internal departments to ensure seamless project delivery.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Project Oversight & Execution

  • Oversee all multi-family and commercial HVAC and Plumbing projects from pre-construction through completion
  • Ensure projects are executed according to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Monitor job progress and proactively address delays, risks, and challenges
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance

Team Leadership & Field Coordination

  • Lead, mentor, and support Foremen, Superintendents, and field teams working on multi-family and commercial builds
  • Ensure crews are properly staffed, trained, and aligned with project demands
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align field operations with project timelines
  • Facilitate clear communication between field teams, office staff, and leadership

Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop and maintain schedules for multi-family and commercial construction projects
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, job walks, and weekly coordination meetings with General Contractors
  • Ensure manpower planning aligns with project timelines and milestones

Budget & Cost Management

  • Monitor labor productivity, job costs, and financial performance across multiple projects
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiencies
  • Assist with forecasting, manpower allocation, and resource planning

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, company standards, and multi-family/commercial building codes
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies across all job sites
  • Conduct site audits to maintain high-quality workmanship and safety compliance

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as a primary point of contact for General Contractors, developers, and builders
  • Maintain strong relationships to support successful project delivery
  • Address and resolve field issues, escalations, and project concerns promptly

Materials & Procurement Oversight

  • Coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery of materials for large-scale projects
  • Monitor material usage and minimize waste
  • Ensure proper planning to prevent delays in multi-phase construction schedules

Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide leadership with updates on project status, risks, and performance
  • Track key metrics including productivity, safety, and milestone completion
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, organized, and aligned with project requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Trade School degree or certification preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience managing large-scale multi-family or commercial construction projects
  • Strong leadership experience overseeing multiple job sites and field teams
  • Deep understanding of scheduling, job costing, and construction workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and job site safety
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites

Experience

  • 7 years of experience in construction management within multi-family and/or commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Experience managing both HVAC and Plumbing scopes in multi-family/commercial environments
  • Background as a Superintendent or Senior Foreman in large-scale construction
  • Familiarity with tools such as PlanGrid, Procore, or similar platforms

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at least one (1) year.
  • Experience with PlanGrid and Smartsheet (preferred)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Outlook and professional email communication
  • Skilled in using electronic devices and digital tools

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
