What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Cable Solder Electromechanical Electronic Assembler position at DEM Manufacturing?
DEM Manufacturing is seeking several early- to mid-level experienced Production Cable / Electronics / Electromechanical Solder Assemblers for its expanding assembly operations.
Essential Responsibilities
This position reports to the Production Supervisor and will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic, cable, electromechanical, and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies including:
- Performing workstation and bench-type electronic and mechanical assembly and sub-assembly production, including routine to advanced soldering of small cable assemblies, surface mount and through hole PCB / PCBA according to documented procedures and applicable standards using hand tools and a variety of electronics assembly equipment.
- Performing operations necessary to build flexible cable assemblies, rigid assemblies, cutting and stripping wire or cables, potting, crimping, and soldering.
- Utilizing assembly measuring tools, and interpreting visual aids such as a bill of materials (the list of components that you will be manufacturing from), work instructions and drawings.
- IPC-A-620 and/or IPC-A-610 certification will be provided in the first year.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma (GED or High School Equivalence), trade, and/or specialized training.
- IPC-A-620 certification (or equivalent) desired but not required.
- Must be reliable, and show up to work daily and on time.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Desire to learn about and work in manufacturing, electrical components, and polymer injection.
- Able to work in a team to identify deficiencies and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, timeline-driven environment.
This is a permanent, full-time position. DEM offers a retention bonus, referral bonus, quarterly bonus, and year-end bonus structure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: DOE per hour based on experience, skill set, and productivity
Level 1: $18-$20 DOE - Although ultimately skillset based, typically one to five years of experience in wire preparation, soldering PCB and cables, and assembly of electronic, electro-mechanical, cabling, or equivalent. Includes basic soldering skills, introductory knowledge of IPC standards, and moderate attainment of productivity and quality standards.
Level 2: $20-$22 DOE - Although ultimately skillset based, typically four to ten years’ experience in wire preparation, soldering PCB and cables, and assembly of electronic, electro-mechanical, cabling, or equivalent. Includes IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-620, and/or IPC-A-610 certification, first article and prototype production, quality control, and median attainment of productivity standards.
