Description
As an Electronic Assembler, you will be performing a variety of printed circuit board assembly techniques (for SMT and PTH applications), a wide variety of soldering techniques along with mechanical assemblies to produce a finished product. Electronic Assemblers will work under a Quality Management System (QMS) as outlined in ISO 13485 and the FDA requirements for medical devices as an electronic contract manufacturing service provider.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Positions and aligns parts; crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
- Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
- Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
- Performs on-line testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Occasionally trains new employees
- Assemble complex assemblies using fixtures and alignment tools
- Solder thru hole components
- Able to build complex assemblies without guidance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Maintain compliance to our established ESD program which includes testing of wrist straps and/or heel straps on a daily documented basis.
- Have the ability to work well with others in a Team environment to contribute your skills to the manufacture of our customer products.
- Have the ability to read/write English since our work instruction, training materials and customer requirements are all in English.
- Learn sufficient computer skills to navigate to our print control log to review electronic documentation files which aid in the manufacture of the PCBA.
- Use a variety of hand tools (ie: soldering irons, screw drivers, wrenches, etc.) to perform your job function.
- Perform work to meet customer quality requirements, IPC-610 workmanship criteria and comply with our QMS on a daily basis.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of electronic work required.
- Surface Mount Soldering
- IPC-610 Certification
- J-STD-001 Certification
- IPC-7710/7711 Certification
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
